Once again, winds were from the north and northeast,
right into our face. We plodded on and made our way
into Bequia around 5:00 pm. We anchored and we
immediately greeted on the radio by a David and
Diana on Just ‘n Time, a couple on another Admrial
that we had met in Trinidad. We were so excited
about happy hour and pizza that we failed Sailing 101
again, the chapter called Anchoring!
While we were enjoying ourselves, Tee Time decided
to go an a little sail-about by herself, dragging her
anchor. The sailing gods gave us one more chance
and allowed us to locate her, with the help of a local
water taxi, before she hit rocks in the Bay.
Miraculously, she had not damaged herself or any
other boats!
The next day we happily accepted David and Diana’s
offer of help to practice anchoring. Having dodged
this bullet, we decide to stay put for awhile and enjoy
the area.
Bequia reminds me of Manitou Springs, Colorado, if it
were on the ocean. Cute, colorful houses built into the
side of the mountains and lots of arts and craft shops.
It’s very easy to get around for yachties with dinghy
docks everywhere.
That brings us to Dec. 13th. The weather looks good
for us to leave in the next two days.
Our plan is to head to St. Lucia, then Martinique, then
possibly taking off for the Virgin Islands.
In spite of our little misadventures, we love Tee Time
and are enjoying the cruising life. We have a lot to
learn, so . . .
Let the adventure continue . . .

Admiralty Bay (above) in Bequia makes it easy to get around with
several dinghy docks(below) close to shops and services.
Large cruise boats (above) anchor and dock here on a regular
basis. We had a nice chat with a couple from Phoenix one
evening who were aboard one of them.
David and Diana Cox have another Admiral
name Just 'n Time. (above) It's cool to see
two Admirals anchored in the same Bay.
