Miami Boat Show
February  2005
While John and I were in North Carolina visiting friends
and family and playing some well-earned golf, David Bird
and his team were busy getting
Tee Time bright and shiny
for the Miami Boat Show.

John and I really didn't know what to expect in Miami.  We
were happy to share our adventures and experiences
since we bought
Tee Time a year earlier, but the positive
responses were almost overwhelming for us.

We knew that Admiral builds a beautiful and complete
catamaran and that the price is the best value for money
around.

It was amazing that so many visitors to our boat
discovered that also.  To hear  people say such
complimentary things about our new home affirmed for us
what we already knew about our choice.

Building a great boat is one thing, but more important than
that, is how a company treats you after the sale.  John and
I call it the "Admiral Experience" and that was what we
were able to share with potential customers.

For us it meant getting to know the people in the factory
and feeling comfortable to walk in at any time and climb
aboard our boat as it was being built.  It meant getting to
know David Bird and his family as friends. It meant having
our boat customized for us. It meant help with all aspects
of delivery from Cape Town to Ft.Lauderdale. And it
meant joining a family of special people who have chosen
to purchase a great catamaran.

We told our story over and over and answered questions
honestly.  Even the best built boat develops problems,
especially with all the accessories that are necessary
creature comforts.

Some of our issues were resolved on route in Trinidad
and others were dealt with in Ft. Lauderdale.   David and
his staff review every boat after delivery, making
improvements and updating systems or installation
procedures. He sees boat problems as a chance to
improve and that's what happens with every new Admiral
that is built.

The package that David offered at the boat show included
a new catamaran at an amazing price complete with
everything anyone would need to cruise a little or a lot. He
also included a visit to Cape Town and a delivery captain
as well. And for the lucky folks who signed contracts they
can look forward to the same "Admiral Experience" that we
had.

As a result, the Miami Boat Show was very successful and
suffice it to say, David's factory will be busy well into 2007!
Preparing for the Boat Show requires lots of work and attention to detail.  Bianca (top right) inspects
the banner, while David's crew and the boss himself (below right) put finishing touches on
Tee Time.
Our golf trophies adorned the galley (bottom left) and the newly installed LCD screen really set off the navigation station.(bottom right)
The wood finish throughout and our king size bed (top right) were popular features of the boat
Relaxing with David, Bianca, and Michelle after a great show!
What a pleasure to have Angelo Lavaranos (top left)
who designed the Admiral 38 stop by for a visit.
John told his fishing tales over and over.  Oh yes, he did
talk about the boat, too.
(Above) As a token of his appreciation (and to rub it in just
a little more), John presents David with his lucky fishing
lure.
The idea of customizing your boat appeals to
everyone.
We enjoyed meeting
Mike and Jane
Kinghorn, who
bought their Admiral
at the Annapolis
Show.
We caught up with our friends Carol and Greg Robinson during
the show and enjoyed spending time with Carol's son Sean.
